Groups are not an occasional addition to the business at Chapman Hotel — they are a major part of what we do. Over many years, Chapman has developed substantial experience in accommodating organised groups of all types rather than simply taking individual hotel bookings.
Our approach to group accommodation is built on a simple principle: save the client money, accommodate everyone comfortably, and maximise the potential of the group's budget. When organising a group, every room and every rand matters. We maximize potential in the following way: we can accommodate up to 110 guests; thus with our rooms, all of which are approximately 22 square metres, and because we use double bunks, we still have ample personal space in the rooms.
We understand that a travelling group consists of diverse roles with different daily responsibilities, including players, children, teachers, coaches, managers, and support staff. Wherever practical, Chapman works to accommodate the group together within the hotel, ensuring that leaders can track students, coaches can prepare, and everyone can function as a cohesive unit.
Sometimes a group is simply too large to accommodate entirely at Chapman Hotel. That does not mean we have to turn them away. We look at the group as a whole and can work with organisers to build a practical accommodation solution using Chapman together with suitable nearby establishments (such as The Kelway Hotel or SUN1). Chapman remains the group's central meal and operational base, with food handled on a planned rotation basis so that everyone can still eat, meet, and operate as one.
When travelling with a sports team, laundry is a daily operational necessity. Training kits get dirty, match kits get soiled, and towels get wet. To remove a major logistical headache for team managers, Chapman provides a vital, tangible benefit: one set of sports gear per person, per day, free of charge across all sporting disciplines.
Our extensive selection of proven menus is structured entirely around the unique physiological demands of male and female athletes across diverse sporting disciplines. We understand that sports nutrition requires deliberate balancing of energy systems, macronutrients, and hydration support:
Our philosophy is simple: we don't promise to win the match, but we do our best to make sure the food isn't the reason you lose it.
Groups rarely operate according to normal hotel routines. Whether dealing with late arrivals from long journeys, early tournament starts before sunrise, or international flight schedules, Chapman plans accommodations, meal rotations, and departures entirely around your actual programme to make the organiser's job as straightforward as possible.
